Land Rover is a British brand of four-wheel drive and off-road vehicles. While Land Rover builds their vehicles all over the world, the company’s history began when they were first granted a Royal warrant by King George VI in 1951. Early models of the Land Rover were offered in various shades of light green as the British military had a surplus of aircraft cockpit paint in those colors.

The Range Rover became an upscale off-road model starting in the 1980’s as the brand began to focus on the high-end vehicle market. In 1987 the Range Rover was finally released to the US market, followed by the Discovery in 1989.
